The Viking undercounter trash compactor is a 1.55 cubic foot appliance with 3,000 pounds of compaction force. The height of the appliance can be adjusted between 34 3/8 inches and 35 3/8 inches with its leveling legs, and the width is 14 7/8 inches. Each cycle of the Viking takes 35 seconds and the bin can hold up to 30 pounds of garbage before you’ll need to replace the bag. The hidden, digital display has a delayed start feature powered by a 9 volt battery. This waste compactor also has a side storage compartment, a side door latch and a replaceable odor disk for deodorizing the machine.
The home trash compactor has a unique look without sacrificing functionality. The controls are hidden behind a sleek standard steel front face, but the panel still has a useful clock which will set a delayed start for compaction. This means you can set the unit to compact and prolong compression while you’re asleep. The Viking will give you a high level of compaction without having to wait 30 minutes or more to throw your garbage away.
The 3/4 horsepower motor is strong and quiet. Viking states a compaction ratio of 6-to-1 with this appliance, meaning six times more garbage per load. If you need to perform one quick cycle, it doesn’t take long. The ram will go down and return to its starting position all within 35 seconds. When it’s time to replace the bag, there’s also a storage compartment within the waste compactor for extra bags, a convenient addition.
The deodorizing system works with an odor-control disk, which should last you about six months before you need to replace it. The disk is set up with an electronic control that automatically turns it every 30 days. This means you won’t have to manually turn on a fan or worry about constant checkups on a filter. The disk has five green sections and one red indicating the expiration, so it’s easy to see when the time comes to buy a new disk.
Other Trash Compactors reviews
Removing the trash from the Viking garbage compactor is easy because of its tilting face. When the bag is full, a side latch will drop the face of the unit toward the floor, making the bag easier to grab and eliminating a lot of vertical lifting. This will be good for your back and make it easier for smaller children helping around the house. For their safety, you can remove the key-knob on the controls, making the machine inoperable without it.
The Viking trash compactor's delayed start and infrequent odor disk replacement make your disposal tasks simple. The look of the unit is clean, and the powerful compaction is one of the best available.
