Common consensus says that the best vacuum deals are only found during big sales events like Black Friday, but Amazon has shaved 21% off the price of the Dyson Gen5Detect cordless vacuum - more than it did back in November.

Dyson is known for producing some of the best vacuum cleaners on the market, and since it's an essential appliance in every household, it's crucial to ensure that it's of good quality. Among Dyson's range of cordless vacuums, the Gen5Detect is one of the best available. To learn more about model specifications and power, you can refer to our guide that compares the V15 Detect with the Gen5Absolute.

The cheapest the vacuum has been selling for on Amazon was $744.98 towards the end of November (post-Black Friday) before shooting up to an all-time high of $949.99 just before Christmas. Right now, you can grab it for $748.98 in the after Christmas sales period, but we don't know for how long.

Dyson Gen5Detect: Key features

When we reviewed the Dyson Gen5detect Absolute, we found it to be a highly impressive cordless vacuum cleaner that boasts advanced suction power, HEPA filtration, and dust detection. As someone who has tested many vacuums in their home, including previous Dyson models, our reviewer was curious to see how this latest model would fare against the dirt, pet hair, and debris in a three-bed home, given that I have a child, two long-haired pets, and two adults who work from home.

After putting the vacuum to the test, they confidently said that it exceeded expectations. During the first vacuuming session, they were impressed with how much dust and pet hair the vacuum picked up on its first pass in a large carpeted room. The Hair screw tool was especially useful for cleaning stairs, and it picked up an incredible amount of fur and dust. The crevice tool was perfect for cleaning along the sides of stairwells and sofas, while the duster brush worked wonders for sweeping gently along skirting boards, ornaments, and photo frames.

They also loved the Fluffy Optic™ cleaner head, which really does show twice as much invisible dust, from the tiniest specks in the hallway to the giant dust bunnies lurking under the wardrobes. They found it particularly satisfying to use on hard floors. Each brush head maneuvers beautifully around furniture and into tight spaces, leaving no dusty gaps or corners behind. The dust cup is easy to empty, with a lever at the side of the cup that can be pushed down to open it and push everything out.
