The Brother HL 2270dw is a quality monochrome home office printer. This wireless laser printer has an image resolution of 2400dpi, which is the highest resolution available. Though it only prints in black and white, your text and images will appear bold without spots of white peeking through.
Your documents will print out quickly. It only takes this printer about 8 seconds to warm up and start printing. Once it starts, it will print about 27 pages per minute. This device's speed ranks faster than most of the wireless printers on our review. It also has one of the lowest power consumptions, using less than 500 watts while operating at its maximum capacity.
This Wi-Fi printer eliminates the need for wires and cables. You can choose to connect either your home computer or laptop, but not both. Unfortunately, with only 32MB of memory, this printer will support only one device and user networked to it. This means that if there are multiple people in your home, everyone will have to wait their turn to use the computer and printer. In comparison, the best wireless laser printers have 10 times the memory and can support multiple devices and users at once. Although it is a Wi-Fi printer, the Brother HL 2270dw doesn't support smart devices such as iPhone or tablets.
The 2270dw is a very compact machine making it a great option for a home office printer. It is only 14.5 inches wide and weighs just over 15 pounds. This means you can easily move this printer around to the perfect spot, and since it's wireless, you don’t have to worry about placing it right next to your computer. If you will be using this machine to work from home, note that it doesn't have other functions such as a copier, scanner or fax machine.
