Malwarebytes free antimalware version is popular. Over 100 million people downloaded Malwarebytes Antimalware from the CNET website, which is more than Norton, Microsoft Security Essentials and Panda Cloud Antivirus combined. Malwarebytes is now the third most popular download on CNET behind AVG and Avast. Malwarebytes is a relatively new antimalware software company with just nine years under their belt, but they have grown quickly and now are up to over 100 million downloads and 5 billion pieces of malware removed.
With so many heavy hitters in the internet security business, it is difficult to triumph in the worldwide market, but Malwarebytes is making a run for it. Like AVG and Avira, their free product is helping them spread the word about their product, and they have been well received. This antimalware software scans quickly, is not overstuffed with extra features, and can combat malware that tries to block it from running.
Malwarebytes security software has not yet been tested by well-known test labs. AV-Test and AV-Comparatives have not tested Malwarebytes. VB100 has also not tested them. Nevertheless, we can say this software is fast.
On an infected machine, there is a chance Malwarebytes (and other software) will not be able to remove malware that has already infected a PC. That being said, for finding and removing malware on an infected computer, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware does an exceptional job untangling and destroying nasty programs that write themselves into registries and proactively mask themselves. On an infected machine, a once-over with the program will most likely remove malicious software, which will result in a noticeable performance boost. No antimalware solution is going to be able to catch and destroy 100 percent of dangerous code 100 percent of the time on a severely infected machine, however. If your PC has been hi-jacked by multiple malicious programs, you can run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware with other types of security tools if needed. Unlike most antimalware software, this one is designed to work well with others and can run alongside other antimalware software if you desire.
If you need customer or technical support, they address requests via an online ticket-based system or by email. Tickets are typically addressed within one business day. Between the ticket support system and their community forums, you should not have a problem getting questions answered. It is surprising how little documentation is offered on their support site, but given the scope, scale and buzz of activity on the forums, it is obvious that Malwarebytes customers can count on assistance from the Malwarebytes community. They have also collaborated with Support.com to provide paid premium support to their customers. Premium support includes live technical support 24/7/365. This antimalware software is available in over 30 languages including English, Arabic, French, Thai and Spanish.
Millions of users have chosen to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and those users contribute to Malwarebytes malware database and ability to create a better product. However, we do not like to make assumptions about how well the software can protect those millions of users from malware without test scores. For the time being, we recommend one of our higher ranked antimalware products that have a collection of high test scores to their credit to prove their ability to detect and remove malware.
