The Frigidaire Gallery FGPC1244T1 is a balanced, portable air conditioner that is not only powerful at cooling, but also energy-efficient and feature-rich. Not to mention its jet engine design that really stands out among the usually boxy portable air conditioner market.

The Frigidaire Gallery FGPC1244T1 has built-in Wi-Fi. With this feature, you can control the unit with your smartphone or via voice commands on smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It also comes with a basic remote control.

Though it states just a 12,000 BTU (7200 DOE) rating - that's more than the cheaper Haier HPP08XCR and on par with the Whynter Elite ARC-122DS, while it claims the ability to cool rooms up to 550 square feet. This is closer to what we have come to expect from 14,000 BTU devices.

There are three fan speeds to vary the power, both for cooling and when in fan only mode, for air circulation. It has a 24-hour programmable timer and an auto-restart feature, which will turn the unit back on if it loses power. There’s also a sleep mode that adjusts the temperature as you sleep to save energy, while keeping you comfortable.

This is one of the heaviest units we have seen, so carrying it up and down stairs can be a challenge. However, the wheels mean it can still be easily moved from room to room, if needed.

This Frigidaire Gallery FGPC1244T1 quickly cools most rooms up to 550 square feet, which makes it an excellent option for many small homes or apartments. The maximum airflow rating is 200 CFM, and the air conditioner can remove up to three pints of water from the air per hour in Dry Mode.

Best Buy users give this device a rating of 3.8 stars from 117 reviews, with 74 percent that would recommend to a friend. Most love the design and its cooling power but do remark on its size and significant weight.

The mobile app is a source of contention for many, with reports of a slow, laggy experience, and the device often disconnecting from the Wi-Fi. Some found the unit not to be powerful enough, though these tended to be rooms on the larger size. For the exhaust pipe, the window kit is also too large for some windows.

If you want an air conditioner that looks the part, then Frigidaire Gallery FGPC1244T1 is a great option. If you value connectivity, and the ability to control through a smart speaker or phone, this is definitely a strong contender. It may not be the most powerful or feature heavy for the money, but the current prices online make it appealing.
