If you’re looking for a mid-price washer dryer combo, the LG WM3488HW has a great range of features and a lifetime warranty on its stainless-steel drum. It has a smaller capacity than many of the best washer dryer combos, but it’s still a great choice for those looking for a compact and durable washer dryer combo.

LG WM3488HW review: Features

  • 14 wash settings and 4 dry settings
  • TrueBalance anti-vibration system
  • No steam cycle

The LG WM3488HW washer dryer combo has a TrueBalance anti-vibration system, designed to balance the drum and prevent vibration for quieter running. As many washer dryer owners opt for them because they have smaller living spaces, this is a great way to prevent your washer dryer combo from interfering with your life. You can leave it running overnight and wake up to freshly washed, dry sheets and clothes.

Like many of the brand's home appliances, the LG WM3488HW washer dryer combo comes with SmartDiagnosis, which allows you to quickly and easily troubleshoot issues via a free companion app.

When it comes to wash cycles, the LG WM3488HW washer dryer combo doesn’t have as many as its more high-end sister, the LG Signature LUWM101HWA washer dryer combo, but it’s not bad either There are 14 wash settings and 4 dry settings in total, including heavy duty, permanent press, wool and delicate cycles. There’s no steam cycle, which is usually a feature in washer dryer combos of this price bracket (such as the GE GFQ14ESSNWW washer dryer combo), but it does have a sanitize setting.

LG WM3488HW review: Size and dimensions

  • 2.3 cubic foot capacity
  • Compact design

At 2.3 cubic foot capacity, the LG WM3488HW washer dryer combo has a smaller-than-average load size. This means you could find yourself running more loads to tackle your laundry, but that’s generally a trade-off you’ll make when you opt for a washer dryer combo, as they’re designed to fit under counters and into closets, and therefore come smaller than washers and dryers as standard.

In terms of specific dimensions, the LG WM3488HW washer dryer combo is 24-inches wide, 33.5-inches in height, and 25.25-inches deep. It’ll fit well into most spaces, including under counters and in laundry rooms, but it has similar dimensions to the Magic Chef MCSCWD27W5, which has a larger capacity at 2.7 cubic feet.

LG WM3488HW review: Warranty

As with other washer dryer combo models, the LG WM3488HW washer dryer combo has a 1 year warranty of parts and labor. What makes this warranty different is that it also has a further 10 years coverage on the drum motor, and a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel drum. This is the best warranty of any of the washer dryer combos we’ve reviewed.

Should you buy the LG WM3488HW?

If you’re looking for a great washer dryer combo with an impressive selection of functions, the LG WM3488HW is a good choice. LG models have the best warranty of any of the washer dryer combos we reviewed, but it doesn’t come with the bells and whistles of the more high-end LG Signature LUWM101HWA (or the price tag attached). However, the LG WM3488HW does have a smaller capacity than the average washer dryer combo.
