This software is Vista compatible.

WinTasks Professional from Uniblue Systems is a fantastic process manager, but a poor PC system utilities software program and is definitely not for the computer novice.

WinTasks Professional is not for beginners. Most system utilities software we reviewed used icons (pictures representing functions) to help users navigate. This software only uses tabs at the top of the screen and within each section; so much information is presented at once that the average person will have trouble deciphering it.

We didn't have any problems installing WinTasks Professional.

WinTasks Professional comes with a Startup Manager and a Process Manager, which goes into detail about each process, including: who created the process, where it came from, how many sub activities (threads) it has running, how much memory it is using and what time the process began.

WinTasks Professional can associate a process to its DLLs. This is helpful when dealing with spyware; spyware programs that use DLLs are difficult to delete. It also can associate every DLL with the program that uses it, which is helpful in managing programs as one DLL can be shared by several different programs.

WinTasks Professional by Uniblue Systems offers the most comprehensive process manager we've ever seen. But if you're a computer novice or just looking for a full PC system utilities software package, then this software is probably not for you.
