The Egyptian Bedding Goose Down Comforter may not look high-end, but it's a warm and comfy option if you're looking for a down-filled covering on a budget. Choosing from the best comforters can be tricky if you want all the fluffy coziness of down but don't have much to spend, but Egyptian Bedding's solution will get you very close to what you're looking for.
This isn't a perfect choice though, for reasons we'll explain throughout our Egyptian Bedding Goose Down Comforter review. However, there are plenty of good features to take a closer look at here, including a high thread count, a plush feather fill, and a hypoallergenic performance.
Down comforters such as this are notoriously hard to clean well though, so throughout our review we'll suggest some alternatives that are easier to care for, as well as being easier on your bank balance.
Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter review: Overview
The Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter is designed to offer a luxury sleep experience for less, and that begins with an Egyptian cotton cover and all-natural goose down filling. Standard features such as loops to hold the comforter in place, should you want to use it inside a duvet cover, are here.
There's also a baffle-box construction to keep the feathers in place with enough room to expand to their full loft for that dreamy luxury feel. On that note, and as we explain in our Brooklinen Down Comforter review, you need to give the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter time to fluff up properly.
You can do that by unfolding it and laying it flat on your bed for a few hours. Shaking it half-way through this process may also help.
With a 750 fill power, it's made to deliver warmth in spades, with acres of down packed into each fluffy baffle box. While this is brilliant in the winter (if you live in very cold climates you may need something with a bigger fill power still), it will feel stifling in the summer months.
Keep in mind that even on the coldest nights, people who naturally sleep hot may find this one is simply too warm for them. If you do sleep hot, also consider whether a cooling mattress is better for you.

Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter review: Design
While Egyptian Bedding describes this comforter as being made from 600-thread count Egyptian cotton, some users have complained that it doesn't feel as soft as they would have expected.
As such, some existing customers with sensitive skin said it felt too stiff and a little rough, but you can easily get around this by placing it inside a removable duvet cover. There are eight loops and tabs to anchor the duvet cover and prevent the comforter from shifting around inside.
Get past that sticking point and you'll be treated to very fluffy down. Some people reported clumping after just a few weeks' of use, despite the presence of baffle boxes to keep the feathers more evenly distributed.
The only way to get around this is to lift and fluff the comforter each morning when making your bed, but for this price (even though it's cheap for down) it's still disappointing. For something a little easier to wrangle, read our Utopia Bedding Comforter Duvet Insert review.
It’s also worth pointing out here that Siberian goose down is just a name - the geese do not originate from Siberia. Instead, the down packed into the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter comes from geese with less expensive down compared to Hungarian geese, for example.
The comforter comes in zippered packaging and is available in Twin/Twin XL, Queen, King and Cal King, though we found that the King and Cal King versions were regularly out of stock at major retailers. Some customers have reported that the sizing is on the small side, so you may need to size up if you're sharing your bed with a partner and you both enjoy plenty of covering.
Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter review: Features
As mentioned earlier in our review, the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter is made with 600 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton, and has been created to give you a feeling of hotel-level luxury bedding for less.
The high thread-counts also makes for more robust outer fabric, which should help keep the feathers contained within the cover and less likely to poke through, though some customers have questioned this.
This comforter is also hypoallergenic and certified with the RDS (Responsible Down Standards) to ensure the goose down is ethically sourced and responsibly harvested. It also meets OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and BSCI. For another hypoallergenic and eco-friendly choice, read our Bedsure Down Alternative Quilted Comforter review.
The Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter has a 750+ fill power, but what does that mean? Fill power is the number of cubic inches that one ounce of down takes up, and the higher the number the warmer the comforter will be. With 400 being at the cooler end, 750+ is enough to keep you toasty in the colder seasons but you may need something heftier in very cold climates.
Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter review: User reviews
The Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter has plenty of love over on Amazon, with more than 770 reviews (at time of writing), averaging a 4.6 out of 5 stars rating. 77% of those reviews were 5-star ratings. Positive user reviews centered around how fluffy and cozy the comforter is, and how it feels like something you'd find in a luxury hotel.
Favorable user review comments included: “It’s heavy – but not too heavy – and very warm. I love it and it’s exactly what I was looking for after researching tons of comforters.” And how it's a winner for winter: "The cotton itself is thicker by far, so it will already make Egyptian bedding much warmer. The filling is twice (or even 3 times) as thicker in Egyptian bedding."
Another custom review explained how, “It looks great, it feels great, it is relatively lightweight, plenty warm and gives me all the comfort that I need while in bed. The quality of this down comforter is great for the money.”
We did find negative reviews too, and those mainly focused on the comforter being too hot or too heavy, making them "feel claustrophobic", while others complained that it was too noisy and shed too many feathers, with some of the darker feathers being visible through the cotton covering.
Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter review: How would it benefit your sleep?
If you want guaranteed warmth as you sleep, but you also want the luxury feel of feathers on a tight budget, the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter is worth considering.
While ‘Siberian’ goose down is just a label, the feather used in this comforter still offers many of the same benefits of a more expensive down, such as lighter weight, a more sumptuous and fluffy feel, and extra warmth.
Here are some other benefits worth considering:
- It's warm and cozy, but this also could be your worst scenario if you're a hot sleeper.
- It offers a medium-high fill power, making it a good choice for winter but not for very cold climates unless you bolster it with added blankets.
- It can be used with a duvet cover to help it stay fresher for longer.
- It's available in most sizes, but not as many as competitor models
If you have a tendency to sleep hot, or you're dealing with hot flashes or night sweats, you might want to check out some cooler options. We'd recommend reading our Buffy Breeze Comforter review for a comforter that's lightweight and breathable yet cozy.
Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter review: Who is this suited to?
If you are looking for superior quality and a reasonable price, the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter easily ticks that box. It’s also ideal for anybody who feels the cold when they sleep.
However, there are drawbacks here, including the fact that it can't be washed that often as you could compromise the fluffiness of the down. The care label does say its machine washable on a very light / gentle setting, with most people taking to spot cleaning it to deal with any stains in between proper washing.
Should you buy the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter?
The Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter could be ideal for you if you want the benefits of down but you just stomach the thought of spending upwards of $400 on a down comforter. It's created to provide a cozy, fluffy, warm sleeping experience during the colder months, but hot sleepers may struggle to stay comfortable beneath it.
The effectiveness of the baffle box design has been questioned by a few customers, who complained that feathers easily poked through the outer fabric, and how overall the 600-thread count didn't feel that soft. You could counter this by placing the Egyptian Bedding comforter inside a duvet cover, but it's definitely something to keep in mind if you want to just use it with a flat sheet.
Overall, this is a warm and fluffy down comforter for a lower price, so if you are on a tight budget and you're willing to cut some corners in terms of design to keep the price down, the Egyptian Bedding Siberian Goose Down Comforter is worth considering.
