Samsung DV8750 has so many cycle types that you can be confident each load will get exactly what it needs to come out dry without damaging fabrics. It had more options than any dryer we compared, including specific cycles for active wear, wrinkle reduction and bedding. There is also a cycle with steam, which is pretty rare in this price range. It is one of only two we compared that offers steam. Steam can be helpful for removing wrinkles, static and odor from clothing. It can also remove bacteria for enhanced sanitation. This was one of only two dryers we compared that has steam options, and this is the less expensive of the two. We found it for less than $900.

The DV8750 has plenty of options to alter each cycle. You get more selection on dryness levels and lots of temperature levels – not just high, medium and low. All of that selection leads to drying each load in the most efficient way that will not damage your clothing.

The DV8750 is also very competitive for energy efficiency. It tied for the best Combined Energy Factor (CEF) among those we compared, one measurement the EPA uses to gauge efficiency. It also qualifies for the Energy Star, which means the EPA certifies it uses 20% less energy than standard dryers and has efficiency features like sensor drying, a feature that can detect how dry a load is, and shuts itself off once clothing is done.

This is also one of the few dryers we reviewed that integrates with your cell phone for diagnosis. That can save time when you need repairs. You can also use an associated app to do things like check remaining cycle times or schedule a cycle. That way you can coordinate the end of a laundry cycle with your arrival at home so nothing sits for very long.

This smart dryer can run a vent blockage test on itself. This senses blockages and reminds you to clean vents. It can also save a group of your settings under the My Cycle feature. That way you can call up your favorite time and temperature combination with just one button for oft-repeated loads.

The warranty offered by Samsung on this dryer is pretty weak – just a year on everything. Really most competing units had equally short and weak warranties but the LG DLE7200VE boasts 10 years of coverage on the drum.

This dryer is larger than others, so it might not be the best for a compact laundry room. The differences between the smallest and largest dryers is only a few inches but if you have a narrow space, it is worth measuring first.

The Samsung DV8750 offers a relatively inexpensive way to get steam drying capabilities. Steam drying can help with a number of pesky laundry problems including static, bacteria, smells and wrinkles. It also just has a wide variety of cycles in general and ways to get exactly what you want from those cycles with lots of choice in temperature and dryness level. It will pair perfectly with its matching washer, the WA8750.
